PASSION 2024 OPENER

Passion Conference is a yearly gathering of college students, united by a desire to see the name of Jesus lifted up. In 2024, the conference was hosted in sold-out Mercedes Benz Stadium, with more than 60,000 students in attendance.

Christian conferences like this almost always start with a high-energy video - something to captivate attention, stoke attendees’ emotions, and launch the programming into a musical worship set. And there’s nothing wrong with that! But this opener wanted take a slightly different approach - communicating that while none of these things are bad, they’re also not necessary. The piece began like a typical opener - with flashy lights, anthemic music, and a high production value. But as the piece progressed, it invited attendees’ to release each of these things, and to discover that there’s only one thing they need to authentically worship God: a heart that’s surrendered to Him.
